Asymmetry

Many of you may not be aware that two time Emmy nominated casting director Stuart Aikins has a background in directing of a different kind. This fall he’s going back to his roots, directing the theatrical play ASYMMETRY written by Rick Robinson. Asymmetry chronicles the halting first steps of three fledgling relationships as six damaged people fumble for intimacy and balance. Each of these relationships comes to a head in one night, in the same physical space, each couple unaware of the others even as their stories intertwine.

We’re incredibly proud to report that our very own Paul Piaskowski is part of the ensemble cast which also includes Jerry Wasserman, Cara McDowell, Leah Gibson, William C. Vaughan and Jessica Charbonneau. “I feel incredibly honoured and blessed to have the opportunity to work with this amazing group of ridiculously talented and ridiculously generous people”. Paul is our very own Aussie, well kind of, he was born in Poland, raised in Australia, and moved to Canada in 2007. He most recently worked with Japanese cult director Shunji Iwai on his first english language film “Vampire” which premiered at Sundance this year.

Asymmetry opens at the Havana Theatre October 25 and runs through to October 30th. For ticket information visit www.realitycurve.com.

Much Merdre to Stuart & Paul and the Cast & Crew!

Lucas Blog from Deb’s Desk

If you’re going to be on my roster you’d better be prepared to “fly”….

The incredible Owen Best (Young Sam Flynn in “Tron”) will be jetting off to Toronto to play the title role of Young Stephen Leacock in CBC’s “Sunshine Sketches of a Little
Town”.

.

.

The amazing Josh Ballard went from a lead in “The Haunting Hour” to a lead in a feature entitled “Redwood”, an inspiring story of an 11 year old that thinks he can beat Jack Nicklaus at the 1978 Masters.

.

.

Older brother Jeff Ballard is no slacker himself; he just booked a lead in a feature opposite Abigail Breslin. The talented Mr. Jeff Ballard may have to borrow Snooki’s eyeliner to play a Goth teenager who gets involved in a murder plot and turns state’s evidence to save himself in “Class Project, How to Kill a Mother”.

.

The lovely Ms Brenda Crichlow is doing back-to-back-to back projects, from “Mommy’s Little Girl” to “Shrinking Violet”, to currently shooting a lead in “The Heart Healer” on Vancouver Island.

.

.

One of the youngest and newest actresses on my roster, the adorable Lucy Jeffrey recently booked two large roles in “Trading Christmas” & “Girl Fight”. Lucy is 6 years old.
