Robert Cuffley Gets FEROCIOUS!

Congratulations to the talented Robert Cuffley, who has just finished shooting his latest movie!  Directed and written by Robert, FEROCIOUS is a riveting thriller, examining the dark side of ambition.

Amanda Crew stars as Leigh Parrish, a successful actress on a trip home to visit her small town roots. While dodging the careful eye of her manager (Dustin Milligan), Leigh steps out from the lights and cameras and into the shadows of her old life, confronting her unsavory past and ex-employer, Maurice (Kim Coates).  He has got something of hers, and she has to get it back…. at all costs.

Also starring Michael Eklund and Katie Boland, Ferocious is produced by Carolyn McMaster (CHAOS a film company inc.) and Anand Ramayya (KarmaFilm), and was shot in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.  The film is now in post – so look forward to FEROCIOUS premiering later this year.

Mike Eckford is Rocking 2012

Mike is the new wingman on Rock 101’s The Bro Jake Morning Show.   Brother Jake says, “The minute Mike Eckford and I first went on the air together, the comedy skies opened up and laughter poured out.”  Sure he’ll be a busy man as he continues co-hosting television’s award winning Urban Rush, something he’s been doing for 13 years alongside Fiona Forbes.

“I have been a fan of Classic Rock 101 and The Bro Jake Show for as long as I can remember and couldn’t be any more excited to join Jake and Alece in the mornings”, says Mike. Congratulations to our Mr. Eckford and please check out this great new FM tag-team on Rock 101 weekdays  6-10am.

LUCAS clients SOAR in new CBC series ARCTIC AIR premiering January 2012

Congratulations to Omni Film Productions and CBC-TV upon the on-time arrival of ARCTIC AIR, Ian Weir’s Yellowknife set ensemble drama about renegade bush pilots in Canada’s Far North.  This new series is a wonderful throwback to the adventure series of yesteryear and stars Adam Beach as Bobby Martin.

Plenty of our talented clients are involved in the series, both in front of and behind the camera.

Jordan Wheeler, Gemini-winning writer, brought his talents to the story room, working as a story editor for the whole season and writing (or co-writing) two episodes along the way.   As an Aboriginal writer, Jordan brought his unique skills and insight – not to mention contacts in the throat-singing community – to the series. The wonderful Susin Nielsen also wrote for the series – with her episode set in the more urban environs of Vancouver.

Anthony Atkins
was lucky enough to direct one of Jordan’s episodes, and had great fun flying back and forth to Yellowknife.  He also directed webisodes for the series, which you can catch on the CBC website as the series progresses.

Lorne Cardinal, a well-known face from his long running CORNER GAS series has a recurring role as Zachary Ward, a successful businessman who has some dark secrets that will be revealed over the course of the season. Lorne says “The writers are fantastic, the scripts are wonderful and ARCTIC AIR will have a very unique and edgy look.” Our Kandyse McClure also has a continuing role as pilot Shontal Hicks, a cool and confident Iraq veteran who has traded in her F16 for a DC3.

Also appearing in guest roles this season are clients Luke Camilleri and Malcolm Scott. Watch ARCTIC AIR on CBC-TV Tuesday nights at 9 ET/PT.
