Of Nominees, Winners and Showstoppers… our clients at the 2013 Leo Awards


With 12 nominations, Lucas Talent clients were prominently featured at this year’s Leo Awards.

Anne Wheeler took home a Leo for Best Direction in a Television Movie for CTV’s “The Horses of McBride”. Anne had also been nominated for screenwriting this based-on-a-true-story feature length drama starring Aidan Quinn. William Waring (photo to right) won Best Direction in a Dramatic Series for his work on the “Continuum” episode “Family Time”, and that episode also earned Alison Grace an award for Best Picture Editing in a Dramatic Series. Alison was a double winner, also taking home heavy hardware for Best Picture Editing in a Television Movie (Reunion’s “Ring of Fire”).

Katrin Bowen was nominated for Direction in a Motion Picture and Screenwriting in a Motion Picture. Sarah Deakins, who set the red carpet ablaze with her haute chapeau, was nominated for Performance by a Female in a Short Drama (photo to left). Mark Lawrence got a nod for Direction in an Information or Lifestyle Series. Louis Moon was nominated for Screenwriting in an Animation Program or Series. Dan Payne, who charmed audiences on both nights as a presenter, was nominated for Lead Performance by a Male in a Feature Length Drama. David Winning was nominated for Direction in a Dramatic Series.

Beverley Elliott, who plays Granny on ABC’s “Once Upon A Time”, brought the house down on Saturday Night with her performance of “Filming in BC”, a parody performance sung to the tune of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep”. WATCH IT HERE:
