Merger of Lucas Talent Inc., Muse Artist Management and JR Talent Inc. to form a bigger, stronger, more dynamic Lucas Talent Inc.

Launch date set for 7.7.14

Lucas Talent Inc. proudly announces that Muse Artist Management and JR Talent Inc. are joining the Lucas Talent Inc. team to form a formidable agency staffed with fifteen top Canadian agents, managers and support staff. The new look Lucas Talent Inc. officially rolls out on 7.7.14.  The move makes for a big agency that will offer big service. We look forward to maximizing the opportunities for all our clients through the collaboration of our experienced agents from all departments.

Lucas Talent Inc. was established in 1986 by Richard Lucas.  Since then the company has grown into a thriving literary and talent agency that proudly represents many leading Canadian actors, writers, directors and other “above the line” personnel.

Anna Archer has been working on behalf of writers, directors and picture editors in the film and television industry for the past 10 years, representing her clients and their projects in the major entertainment industry centers in Canada and in Los Angeles.  She is fortunate to work with some of the top creative people in Canada, working across all genres including live action drama, animation and documentary/lifestyle.  Prior to moving to Vancouver, Anna worked in the publishing industry in London, England for approximately 10 years as the Head of Audiobook Publishing for Penguin Books and the Chair of the Spoken Word Publishing Association.

Kim Barsanti has been a member of the arts community for over 30 years. She received her BFA in Theatre from Concordia University. Kim started her career as a Stage Manager in theatre, dance and large scale events. In 1997 she expanded her commitment and focus in the arts and began working as a Talent Agent. Kim understands the drive of a performer and, therefore, invests her own creative passion into her representation of actors. After creating, nurturing and running Muse Artist Management for 10 years, Kim decided it was time to cut back on her business responsibilities to focus on her love of being an agent and manager.  She likes dark chocolate, strong black decaf coffee and bulldogs.

Jodi Caplan grew up dancing with a local dance company in Victoria while touring and performing all over BC.  In her teens she started modeling which took her to Japan, Taipei, Korea, LA and Toronto.  She has been an agency owner for over 20 years and has represented actors in all fields from leads in feature films, series regulars in television series, voice-over actors and everything in-between!  Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys and tries to take the occasional dance class!

Leyla Carreira has worked in various roles within Vancouver’s film and television industry over the past 17 years, first as a Background Agent and then moving into production, acting and casting.  Using the experience and knowledge she gained working alongside prominent casting directors, producers and directors she returned to her work as a talent agent and now represents principal performers for film, television and commercials.  Passionate about advancing the careers of actors, Leyla applies her certification in life/career coaching and extensive experience with people-development and leadership initiatives to managing and guiding talent.  Leyla has also volunteered with the Crisis Centre of BC as a community educator and enjoys facilitating film and television workshops in high schools to support young, up-and-coming actors.

Eric Edwards has been a part of the great team at Lucas Talent Inc. since 1999.  He represents an exclusive roster of clients alongside founder, Richard Lucas.  This dynamic duo represents many of Canada’s top talents living in Vancouver, Toronto, Los Angeles and other North American cities. After Eric graduated from the Radio and Television Arts program at Ryerson University, he commenced his career working for Livent in the Toronto theatre management business.  In the mid-90’s he moved to Vancouver where he was a key member of Livent’s start-up team for the Ford Centre for the Performing Arts.  Born in Montreal, Eric is a lifelong fan of his beloved Montreal Canadiens but his real pride and joy is his daughter Violet.

Lisa Gostling grew up in North Vancouver and has lived there ever since. Lisa graduated from Handsworth Secondary in 2008 and immediately went on to Capilano University where she acquired a Bachelor of Motion Picture Arts Degree in 2013. Her degree specialized in the producing side of film. Lisa has been involved in numerous independent productions, working with classmates and colleagues.  She has worked at Creative BC (formerly the BC Film Commission) as a Locations Database Administrator. Lisa spends her time in the great outdoors, and is an Office Assistant at Lucas Talent Inc.

Doreen Holmes is a literary agent who has been with Lucas Talent for over a decade, and in the entertainment industry for more than 15 years.  Her roster is an interesting mix of established writers, directors and picture editors, peppered with some wonderful, emerging talent.  Doreen approaches negotiations with a positive attitude, believes in working with her clients collaboratively to find opportunities within the industry and provides guidance and direction in the development of her clients’ careers based on their interests and strengths. Prior to joining Lucas Talent, Doreen was the co-ordinator at Praxis Centre for Screenwriters and managed the professional designated business programs in Continuing Studies at Simon Fraser University.

Jennifer Lee was born and raised in Victoria, BC.  She began performing in dance and musical theatre at a very young age. The former Miss Victoria Chinatown started her film and television career as an actor in 1997 and, for the past seven years, has enjoyed working behind the camera as a Background Talent Agent.  A long time (often suffering) Canucks season ticket holder, she loves watching hockey and hanging with her beloved dog, Brando. She is very excited to be joining the team at Lucas Talent Inc!

Richard Lucas and the team at Lucas Talent Inc. have proudly represented many of Canada’s top names in entertainment since 1986. He is a graduate of the University of Alberta’s BFA Acting Program, and the University of British Columbia’s MFA Directing Program (Theatre & Film). Richard’s pre-agency life includes extensive professional work as an actor, director, and as EXPO ’86 On Site Entertainment Producer where he helmed events including the famous comedy revue “THE SECOND CITY” and numerous international theme festivals. Along the way he and the Lucas Talent team have produced charity events donating over $100,000 to organizations including the Canadian Cancer Society, Qmunity, the Canadian College of Performing Arts and PAL, Performing Arts Lodges.

Debbie Mahood has been a Talent Manager since 1992.  Before entering the film and television industry, Debbie worked as a radio announcer but found that her stint at a country music station made her want to run away with her boyfriend’s dog and pick-up truck. Fortunately for her clients, Debbie switched off the microphone and began representing an impressive roster of actors for film, television, theatre, commercial, and voice-over work. She is proud to guide the careers of these performers in lead and supporting roles in feature films and guest lead and recurring roles on prominent television series.  Overseeing both an adult and youth roster, Debbie brings an array of industry knowledge that is invaluable to any actor.  Her love of animals also makes her wish she could represent all of Canada’s four-legged creatures as well.

Brad Mellesmoen has been representing actors of all ages for 4 years.  Prior to that, he was immersed in camera-acting training, specializing in youth and teens.  Realizing he would never be adopted by The Partridge Family, Brad channeled his love of music into a broadcasting career in the 80’s and 90’s, training radio announcers and working in promotions and marketing across Western Canada.  Brad is intensely dedicated to his clients’ career trajectory and helping them reach their creative goals in this exciting and growing industry.

Derek Nordick, originally hailing from Williams Lake, BC, has been living in Vancouver and working in the film industry for the past 11 years.  He did background work for 3 years, before eventually segueing into his current position as a Background Talent Agent, which he’s been doing for the last 7 years.  He loves working in the film industry, working with his partner Jennifer Lee, and working with his clients and casting directors.  In his off time, Derek enjoys the beach, the outdoors, going to concerts, and just getting out and enjoying life!  He’s excited and is very much looking forward to this new partnership with Lucas Talent Inc!

Corey Ouellet is a knowledge philanthropist of sorts with a passion for working behind the scenes to make magic happen.  He has served on a number of boards within the non-profit and arts communities, has over 10 years of experience as an office manager, administrator, and executive assistant, and has experience in marketing, fund development and event production. Corey spends his downtime volunteering with Vancouver’s Emergency Response Team, Vancouver Tourism, as a Sail Instructor and is an integral part of a variety of seasonal events throughout the city.  With his wealth of interpersonal and communication skills, Corey seamlessly personifies his role as the gatekeeper of Lucas Talent Inc.

Gloria Rabey grew up in Victoria, BC where she started working in sales and marketing, and over the years she has won numerous awards throughout Canada for her sales acumen. Using her marketing skills and her background in accounting she helped launch a thriving talent agency and 15 years later has never looked back.  Her focus over the past few years has been booking film and television work for her clients. Gloria loves working with her actors and cannot imagine doing another job. In her limited spare time she is dedicated to her shopping and keeping Vancouver retail alive!

Emilio Salituro brings with him over 20 years of experience in the acting industry. He is a classically trained actor who trained and worked professionally in film, TV and theatre. During his acting years he also worked as a director, producer and acting coach. In 2008 he took his love for the craft and experience in business to become one of Vancouver’s most popular talent agents. His clients have worked across Canada, Europe and the US. He likes pizza.
