WES WILLIAMS joins all-star cast in the new drama series ‘THE LINE’

Actor Wes Williams will appear alongside an all-star cast in the upcoming drama series ‘The Line’, premiering Monday, March 16th, 2009 at 10 p.m. ET on TMN and 9 p.m. PT on Movie Central. It will also air Fridays at 9pm ET/MT on HBO Canada. ‘The Line’ revolves around the multifaceted lives of people on both sides of the law and brings viewers into an unpredictable world where the lives of cops, criminals and the innocent collide. This compelling 15-part series has a tremendous cast of heavy hitters including: Sharon Lawrence, Linda Hamilton, Daniel Kash, Ron White and Ed Asner, and was written by renowned playwright George F. ‘The Line’ examines the lives of two morally ambiguous police officers, who take matters into their own hands in an attempt to clean up their neighbourhood. Wes Williams plays Andre Gilbert, a powerful and unpredictable drug lord. Andre is all at once ruthless, cutthroat, generous and nurturing. Award winning Canadian Film director Gail Harvey proclaims “Wes Williams is one of the finest actors in the country. Every day on ‘The Line’ he brought something new to add to his character”.

Another role Wes will soon be playing is the host of the fourth annual Maestro Media Benefit & Birthday Bash. This high profile event is one of Vancouver’s hottest nights. The popular charitable party takes place Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Caprice Night Club, Downtown Vancouver, and will be in full swing from 9pm until late. Wes ‘Maestro’ Williams and Orville Sam founded this event, which brings together the city’s finest, including celebrity superstars such as Grammy award winner Nelly Furtado and multi-Juno award winner k-os, to raise money for worthy charities. This year partial proceeds from this event will be donated to the Path Finders Youth Centre. founded by former CFL star Orville Lee. This year will commemorate the 20th anniversary of Wes’s Juno Award winning debut album ‘Symphony in Effect’, which broke ground for hip-hop artists across the country, and catapulted Wes into international stardom.
